bijou likes me better.

I loved high school, as much as any person could love high school and i feel really sad that out of all the schools on LI, mine was the only one who didn’t get together for a drunken night of rememberwhen. so as an ode to my ten year reunion - here is a post of my favorite song from 1997.

Ten years later, it’s still a kick-ass song. I totally get why i liked it then and i have to say, i had a lot of insight then as to what my life would be like now. ok maybe i didn’t really know it then. perhaps i liked alanis because she had a cool name that was like mine. or because she had long ass curly hair like mine. or because i thought she was a real musician - rocking out on her harmonica and stuff. But it must have been a sign of things to come. This song rings as true as ever. And yes, I quoted this in the Syosset Braves yearbook ‘97 but i still believe that everything’s gonna be quite alright.
